Why is it important to be part of the 40 over 40 campaign?
To embrace and love this next chapter of my life.

Are we celebrating a milestone, transformation, birthday or another event with your portrait session?
Turning 40, and loving all of the things that come next!

What do you hope to gain from participating with the 40 over 40 campaign?
I hope to feel empowered. I’m also extremely excited to meet the other women that are participating. There’s nothing like being in a room of powerful women to fill your inner cup with greatness. 

What excites you the most regarding your portrait session?
I’m excited that I’m taking this time out to honor myself. I hope that my girls see the photographs and feel proud and encouraged to always love themselves for who they are. 

What is the most valuable lesson life has taught you?
Communication is the key to everything. 

What wisdom would you like to share with your younger self?
It’s ok to let friendships go, some just fizzle away and that’s ok. There are friendships for different seasons, and that doesn’t mean they weren’t great or needed at the time, it just means they weren’t forever.  

Who has been the most influential person in your life and why?
My mother. She is my best friend, my mentor, my go to for all of the things. She has taught me to love God, and to love myself, among so many other things. I’m Incredibly thankful for her every day. 

What's your favorite beauty secret?
A good bra can make all the difference. Get the good bra!! 

When have you felt the most beautiful?
On a dance floor, forehead to forehead, with Cliff looking me in the eyes singing to me, then giving me a wink telling me how beautiful I looked. I don’t even remember what I had on, or where we were , I just remember how beautiful I felt in that moment. 

What was happening when you were extremely proud of yourself?
When I hit 30, I completed all of my before 30 goals. I was extremely proud of myself. 

Describe yourself in 3 words
Thankful, outgoing, adventurous

Alisha and I shared a beautiful moment during the interview as she spoke about the significance of being present for herself as well as a role model for her daughters.  These moments are so heartfelt and touching that they always bring tears to my eyes.  Then, I was able to meet one of her daughters because she brought her to the portrait reveal.  It was a beautiful and empowering day! These moments fill my heart and make what I do fun and not "work"!
