Michelle's 40 over 40 Story

40 over 40 Campaign Excitement & Nervousness

I think photography is an art, and there’s a vulnerability there. I thinks it’s that exposure and vulnerability that makes me the most anxious.

I love lifting up other people, especially women. Our culture focuses on finding beauty in the young, and I love that this campaign focuses on the complexity and engaging aspects behind mature beauty.

It was in impulsive moment for me to sign up. I love the campaign! Let’s celebrate women being awesome.

So many things! I’m excited to share my journey with other women, and hopefully inspire someone. I’ve been wanting to do a photo shoot for easily 20 years, so I’m really proud of myself for just doing it and to stop making excuses. I feel like it’s another step in my life and a way of accepting and celebrating who I am.

Life Lessons & Wisdom

No regrets. I had this epiphany in a literature class when I was twenty. It’s taught me to take risks and live my life in a positive way. I firmly believe that every decision and experience makes us who we are, and it doesn’t make sense to regret any of it.

I’d tell my younger self to be more confident and to accept more about myself. Also to take more risks because nothing great happens without taking a chance.

I’d say both of my parents. My dad taught me to have integrity, be a great leader, work hard, have fun and to laugh a lot. My mom has always encouraged me to be whoever I wanted to be. She taught me that there are no limits and to never give up. She’s also taught me to be strong, loyal and witty. I’m very blessed to have grown up with such wonderful people as my parents.

Eye cream! I started using it when I was 20/21.  I think people need to start moisturizing and taking care of their skin when they are young.

I love that Michelle took a step outside of her comfort zone to complete what was essentially a bucket-list item.  If you read her comments above, she had been wanting to celebrate herself by experiencing a photo session for 20 years!!  I'm so thankful that she allowed me the opportunity to empower and honor her through the 40 over 40 campaign.

You can have this amazing experience too!  I'm currently accepting applications for round 2! Click the link below to learn more and inquire!
