Recording Captured Confidence
Some days remind me just how powerful this work really is. Yesterday was one of those days.
I had the privilege of welcoming three talented students from Purdue Northwest into my studio. They are currently working on a documentary style class project they’ve titled Captured Confidence... and they chose to focus on boudoir photography, my studio, and the incredible women who step in front of my camera.
Their goal is to show how boudoir is so much more than pretty photos. It is about self-love, empowerment, and seeing yourself in a new light. They wanted to capture the experience of what it feels like to be vulnerable and then come out stronger, more confident, and proud of who you are.
The students recorded behind-the-scenes footage of a full boudoir session... from hair and makeup styling to capturing those beautiful moments where my client started to truly let go and feel amazing. They also interviewed both me and my model, asking thoughtful questions about why I do what I do, what this experience means to the women I photograph, and how confidence shows up in so many forms.
For me, it was a special moment to step back and reflect on the impact I’ve been fortunate enough to have on so many women. It was a reminder that boudoir photography is not just about posing or pretty lingerie... it’s about helping women see themselves the way the rest of the world sees them... strong, beautiful, and worthy.
I was truly honored to be part of their vision. I could feel their passion for storytelling, and I am so excited to see how they bring this to life. Captured Confidence will be a beautiful representation of what boudoir can do for a woman’s spirit.
I cannot wait to share the final video with you once it’s complete. Stay tuned for something really special!
