Renee's 40 over 40 Story

Meet Renee, owner of Hoosier Highlander in downtown Highland, IN.  Hoosier Highlander is a custom framing and art supply store.  You may have even seen some of her custom framing work if you've seen some of my social media posts and videos.  I can't recommend them enough!

What is your favorite body part or feature?

Are you anxious or nervous about anything related to your portrait session?
Exposing my insecurities. 

Why is it important to be part of the 40 over 40 campaign?
Build confidence while going through times of change.

Are we celebrating a milestone, transformation, birthday or another event with your portrait session?
Helping to build confidence in myself.

What do you hope to gain from participating with the 40 over 40 campaign?
Confidence in seeing myself as others seem to. 

What excites you the most regarding your portrait session?
I'm more nervous than excited. 

What is the most valuable lesson life has taught you?
There's still lots to learn!

What wisdom would you like to share with your younger self?
There’s so much small stuff that feels so huge at the time, it’s not!

Who has been the most influential person in your life and why?
BOTH of my parents, they have faced immense obstacles and have always stood by each other’s side.

What's your favorite beauty secret?
Coconut oil!!!! As a lotion, after shave, it's very soothing for my sensitive skin.

When have you felt the most beautiful?
When someone special made me feel like the only person in the world.

What was happening when you were extremely proud of yourself?
Seeing what an amazing young woman I’m raising!

Determined, motherly, pigheaded
