Your Website Called...
Hello...It's time for new brand photos!!
Is your visual brand living in the past? You may not have thought much about it, but take a look at your website, social media platforms, course materials, etc…
I’m ALL for making life easier and cross posting photos between social media platforms, your website, course/membership materials and such; but there comes a time when your photos purely become used and abused. If you’re tired of seeing the same photos over and over again, be sure that your audience is too!
Jessica Rodriguez of DayDreamAchievers.com regularly schedules brand photos for this very reason. I wish I could say that I’m her photographer, but she already had her “forever photographer” before I threw my hat in the ring. Nonetheless, it goes to show you that people who are making an impact find updating their photos critical to their success; enough so that they are willing to schedule branded shoots 2-3 times a year. That means, if you had one shoot a couple years ago, you are WAY overdue for new photos!!
So, I have two questions for you…
How long have you been using your current photos?
How many times have your current photos cycled through Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Pinterest, your blog, your website, your course/membership materials, your webinars, etc….etc….?
Don’t let your audience get blasé or bored with your visuals. This will cause them to skip right past your brand spanking new offer because they’ll have assumed that they’ve already seen it before.
The next thing you want to assess is whether or not your photos accurately represent your brand now.r Has you gone through a rebrand or have you change who you’re targeting? Your photos could be representing the old version of your brand instead of the current 2.0 version. It’s not uncommon to change your focus or your avatar several times through the course of business, who make sure that as your brand evolves, your photos do too.
Evolution is key in staying on top. So, it only makes sense update our look and/or go through a brand renovation. That being said, the one thing you don’t want to do is mix the old and the new, especially if they’re completely different!
You may ask why…
The truth is your old and new style may clash or worse, you’ll confuse your viewers and a confused mind will never buy. A better method would be to plan ahead and use your rebranding as a reason to shout from the rooftops….”Check me out!!!”, or at the very least, use the brand reveal as a way to peak interest and get the buzz going long before you actually show off your new look.
